Born and raised in Mississauga, John went to a music high school in Toronto which gave him the skills to be successful at karaoke. From there, he moved to study genetics, first in London, Ontario, and then in Montreal where he met Rosa.

Rosa and John met through Erika, a mutual friend. While neither of them can remember when they first met and Rosa was bored on their first date (John took her to his death metal radio show after dinner), they soon discovered that they could have a lot of fun together if they did things that they both enjoyed (i.e. not death metal). In 2019, after both had finished grad school, they moved to New York where they have been since.
John proposed to Rosa on November 18th, 2019, at the High Line park in Manhattan. John’s parents were visiting and documented the whole event. Rosa and John have gone on many walks along the High Line, so it was not suspicious when John suggested they go there for a walk. When John found a nice, quiet spot, he got down on one knee and proposed, surprising Rosa so much she forgot to say yes (and yes, there is a video).

They got married at the peak of the pandemic, June 2020, at their small New York apartment with friends and family attending over Zoom. Three years later, Rosa and John are finally ready to celebrate their marriage in person!
If you wish to give us a wedding gift, we would greatly appreciate cash to help fund our honeymoon!
